A Sauna Party? Sounds exotic!
A sauna party, huh? I have a couple ideas.
I called my Mother last night. She reports to me regularly about what’s new over the ocean. So she told me that my Auntie’s neighbors just built a swimming pool in their outdoor sauna. Evidently my cousin couldn't find her parents last Saturday and called my Mom. It turns out that they were at their neighbor’s house taking a sauna and chilling in the pool. So now this family has about ten cars by their house every weekend. They throw a sauna party! I was like, gosh, what am I doing here? I too want to go there! Whether you make a private sauna party or are renting a public place for that, a sauna and a swimming pool together is a good combination. I cannot imagine partying with just a sauna. It is hot! Sometimes very hot! You definitely need a pool with cold water to chill down. Here is how I like to do it. I like to go in the sauna first, then, when I am hot as an ember, jump into the pool making splashes and waves. That’s what I call fun! You can swim and dive. When you are cold as an icicle, it is time for the sauna again! When you get tired, you can grab some food from a party table. You can drink a little bit and nibble on snacks. Don’t eat a lot though. The fun is over when your stomach gets heavy.
What to put on a party table? Light snacks, salads, fruits, veggies, dip, and cold beverages. I am posting this Taco Dip Salad recipe here because it is easy to make and goes down swiftly. Here it is:
TACO DIP SALAD 2 8oz. packages cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup sour cream 1 8oz. mild or medium salsa chopped lettuce tomato cubes grated cheddar cheese (or whatever you like) sliced black olives (optional) tortilla chips or nacho chipsDirections: 1. Mix together cream cheese, sour cream, and salsa. 2. Pour into a pie plate or bowl. I myself used 2-3 plastic flat plates. 3. Top with chopped lettuce, tomato cubes and grated cheese. Add olives, if desired. 4. Serve with chips.
You will surprise your friends by throwing this kind of a party. Hey, they do PJ parties! But have they heard about the sauna parties? I doubt it. Then everybody should bring swimming suits instead of pajamas. It is an original and innovative idea. Being with friends you can massage each other; ladle the fragrant solution over the heaters rocks and do aromatherapy; tell stories, or just be quit and relax. There are all kinds of options. I hope you like my idea and start getting ready for your own sauna party!
